Getting caught up...

OK...I cheated a little with the coffee one...week 18 of the Deck of Me was "what gives you comfort"...well... come on...this also happened to be my design for the ATC swap I hosted....so way too convenient...

The rest of them are 14 through 17...and they're in order...

and I still don't have the Mother's Day gifts done yet...I think maybe if I can get them done, I'll combine them with Father's Day and mail them all together...
Last night Landon's school had Movie Night...they do this a few nights a year ..there's a big hill on the side between 2 of the wings and they turn it into an outside movie theatre..this time it was High School Musical 2...(the kids got to vote)...Britain's way too cool for HSM, so it was just Landon and me...but the weather was perfect and we had such a great time!! All the kids were on their feet doing the dances...and singing along...even a lot of the parents...LOL

That's about it for now..
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

And they're off....

ATC's are in the mail and on their way to you!!! I ended up with extras so what I did was everybody got one of each, and one of their own back and then I took the extras and divvied them out as well so if you end up with two from the same person that is why....I can't wait to hear from you guys when you get them!! Everyone did such an awesome job! Thanks for participating...Winners of the drawings were

Lisa- first turned in...this woman was "on it" she sent me hers like the first of April

and the random drawing winners were

so some little extras will be on their way to you in your envies....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! My boys surprised me with a special dinner at Eckert's, a fun family place where they serve homemade fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans "family style" and the best fried biscuits with apple butter you've ever tasted!

and uh yeah...we are totally dressed like that in the middle of May...It was like 40 degrees and pouring all day....Dianna, could you send me a little sunshine please...?
and in true "Amy" form I am just now working on Mother's Day gifts... I might have done better if I hadn't changed my mind like 6 times of what I was going to do...I had good intentions...but between trying to keep track of my jobs...I know there are only two, well technically 3 (but one is only a couple times a month)...ok it's getting hard to wrap my brain around where I'm supposed to be when....
and that's about it for now...thanks for stopping by and take care!

He's earning his keep....

I'm such a proud Mama...

That's Britain, his first day at his job mowing my neighbor Pat's lawn...she has a really big lawn...and she even had an 8 x10 foot area tilled this past weekend so we can have a neighborhood garden...so cool, I know you're jealous that she doesn't live next door to you...although she apparently doesn't know that most plants play dead when I come near them so I won't kill them with my well meaning watering and planting skills...I'm not sure that I have any business going near a garden...but who knows?

Not to be outdone by his brother...Landon got busy planting some flowers in the front yard...

ATC UPDATE: I'm waiting for Deanna's and Casii's (who actually redid all of hers, bless her)...Cassii's should be here tomorrow and Deanna, I haven't heard back from you? If I don't I'll be sending them out as soon a I recieve Cassii's ..so you'll end up getting 14 since we had 1 and possibly 2 dropouts...I really can't wait to get them all out to you guys! Everyone did such amazing work...and I don't know about you, but I had so much fun doing this!!

Deck Dame cards...I am finally caught up!..whoa mama! I'd show them to you but blogger has chosen this moment to get an attitude..

I'm really liking my new nursing job, just staying super busy between that and the SBF. I'm teaching a Mickey album class tomorrow am.

That's about it for now...hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

I am soooo not worthy....

Kim at TCB made me cry Friday when she featured me as "Today's Creative Blog"...and yes of course I'm late in posting because I've been working all weekend...but wow, I can't begin to tell you how special it made me feel! Especially with all the craziness in my life lately and the fact that I've been a total blog slacker lately! If you've never been there you have to go check out her blog, I've had a link to her over there on the right forever. She's part of what inspired me to start blogging in the first place. She features a new "creative blogger" every day (or so), she's very creative herself, a mom, a fitness instructor...the list keeps going. So stop by and see her when you have time.

ATC UPDATE!

Recieved:Carolyn, Kelly, Pat, Robin, Judy, Lisa, Kylie, Kathryn, Rita, Christi, Bea and mine are done

Need:Dianna, Deanna, and Casii
Lesli dropped out guys, sorry, she got super busy.
Cassii sent hers once and for some reason they haven't gotten here yet, but lets all cross our fingers and maybe they'll show up in the next day or two...sorry Casii

Everyone did such a fabulous job with the cards!!

I've been terrible about updating here, I had such a good routine going, but things have gone so wonky. I am really better and thanks again so much for being such great friends!
I've not been creating very much lately, I've been so busy with work and stuff I've been making for classes that it hasn't left a lot of extra time for my own stuff, I'm hoping I can spend some time today getting my Deck cards, Mother's Day stuff and maybe a few other things done.
I've started a new job at a nursing home, which I think I'm really going to like once I get used to it, and I'm still having a great time in Heaven at the store. I had to get back to work at a nursing job to help pay for this indiscretion
yeah, I bought a new (used) Dodge Dakota...I always wanted a truck...and ok I so had no intentions of doing it, but there we were, at the dealership getting something done to Rob's car, and there "he" was all shiny and pretty and all "look at me I'll make you look like a badass" and I was sunk...so now all I need is a pair of those swinging testicles to hang from the trailor hitch and I'm set........needless to say the boys are totally stoked about it the first night we had it we ate dinner in the back....don't worry though, the neighbors already think we're nuts...(right Pat?) "He" needs a name though....so what do you think? I was going to call him Thor....

Before I forget...the new issue of OhScrap is out and I have a sketch AND a video feature...I'm new to video's so keep that in mind...I also sounded terrible because I was still pretty sick when I did it...but anyway go check it out!! If you're not subscribed already you can do so by emailing

ohscrap@live.com

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!!

Gratitude:...Yeah so out of touch on this

1. my health...won't be taking it for granted anymore

2.beautiful weather...FINALLY

3. even though we're crazy busy, I'm blessed to have more jobs than I know what to do with especially right now

4. my truck

5. OF Course!! Being a feature at TCB...THANKS again Kim....

Mother's Day Mini Album...

Just wanted to do a quick post to tell you about a class at THE SBF..

On May 1st I'll be teaching this Mother's Day Mini Album. The album is actually half chipboard, and half acrylic which in the words of my 12 year old is "totally boss"...which is a good thing...

I am feeling better every day...can't seem to shake this wonderful "hack" though...that's what it sounds like when I cough..."hack hack hack"...I sound like I've been smoking for 20 years...and I soooo don't smoke

I'm sorry I haven't been around to check up on everyone lately, but will try to do that in the next day or two! I haven't recieved anymore ATC's in the last few days...I hope yours didn't fall off the boat on it's way from Poland, Kylie!!! The rest of you...GET TO WORK...LOL :-) ...that was for me too...

so here's a little picture from my birthday which was last Thursday...guess I'll have to change my profile now...:-)

We went to Bandana's...love their BBQ chicken nachos....mmmmmm

They give you a bouquet of tootsie roll pops instead of cake....I'm not complaining ..Love me some toosie roll pops...especially these little baby ones! and just so you know...I have fixed my roots....and I am well aware that I need a few trips to Hollywood Tan...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Not Dead yet....

Just a quick post to let you know...I'm not dead...
Sorry to worry anyone, I have had a bad go of it healthwise lately...
This viral, sinus nasty stuff I've not been able to shake has decided to turn into Pneumonia...and it has really knocked me on my ass
The ATC Swap is still on, so I hope no one was panicking
I've recieved cards from Rita, Lisa, Kathryn and Pat and they are so awesome!!
...so the rest of you out there I can't wait to see yours! I'm about halfway on mine..
I have been working at the store, and have a new nursing job I haven't started yet and right now am not sure exactly when I will be....but that's why I haven't been on here..
I literally get out of breath just walking up the steps...
Hopefully this new, (and my third) round of antibiotics in 5 weeks, will actually work...so I'm getting there..and I hope to be "here" much more very soon...
Thank you so much for thinking of me and for keeping me in your prayers!

Wishful Scrapping

I've been trying to "wishful scrap" warm weather into existence....
.I did this project and tried submitting it for publication at the beginning of March...but it didn't get picked up...which means I get to share it with you all....

This clear box started out as a container for a rubber stamp set I bought at that craft store with a man's name on clearance for like $3...they had bunches of them...anyway after I took the stamps out I thought...I could so do something fun with this box...and I found some acetate sheets I had in my stash to use for the pages...some very fun summery Doodlebug Color Coordinates, and some fun ribbon...oh and some bazzill cardstock...

kind of hard to see "clear" in pictures but the pages of the minialbum are acetate with Doodlebug pattern paper and Bazzill cardstock mounted on it...

Once I got the idea out of my head, this project went together really fast as the acetate was already cut to a standard card size and fit inside the box perfectly, the Doodlebug collection was already coordinated so all I had to do was pick out matching cardstock and ribbon.

I'm off to work...if you have bored boys, of the large or small variety.. Spike TV has been doing this Star Wars marathon since last weekend playing all the movies, the makings of etc...mine have been glued to it...which makes little sense since we own all of these movies and various acouterments....

but who can solve the mystery of boys...? But all of this Star Wars marathoning has sparked a certain amount of controversy and conversation in our house and it is a question that I'm sure has been asked before....

Who was "the chosen one" the one to bring balance to "the force" told by the prophecy...was it Darth Vader/Annakin or was it Luke Skywalker?....

Our house is in a split decision on this subject...what do you think?

That's it for now, Thanks for stopping by and have a great night..I'll be stopping by to "read" everyone later..
